In Nutrition Explorers, students set out on a colorful adventure to discover how different foods help fuel their bodies.

Through hands-on activities, sorting challenges, and creative projects, they’ll learn to recognize food groups and understand the importance of balanced choices. Each lesson builds curiosity and confidence as kids explore the connections between food, energy, and health in fun, age-appropriate ways. About Food Science: Nutrition Explorers
Nutrition Explorers is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), helping students connect food and health to foundational science ideas. Students investigate how living things, including people, get what they need to survive (K-LS1-1), classify objects by their observable properties (1-PS1-1), and analyze patterns in how energy is used in the body (2-PS3-1). Activities emphasize Science and Engineering Practices such as sorting, modeling, and analyzing data in creative and engaging ways. By linking food categories to science, this focus area gives students the tools to understand health and nutrition as part of the natural world.
Focus Areas
In this focus area, students will explore nutrition and health through engaging projects and discovery activities. They’ll build “rainbow plates” to learn about variety, create posters that explain balanced meals, and explore hydration and the role of water in keeping us healthy. Kids will also investigate vitamins and nutrients, compare different snacks, and practice portion awareness through hands-on modeling activities. Each topic connects everyday experiences to science, helping students see how nutrition supports energy, growth, and wellness.

Class 16 - Pop Art Extravaganza!

In this captivating class, students dive into a world where your favorite toys, snacks, and everyday items turn into amazing art? Explore the colorful and fun world of Pop Art, just like Andy Warhol did with his iconic soup cans. Students will grab a paint brush and their brightest colors, and make everyday objects POP!

Class 22 - Sculpting Through Time

In this lesson, students will journey back in time to explore the fascinating history of sculpting, uncover the secrets of ancient techniques, and bring history to life by crafting their own 3D relief sculptures using clay.
