Course Format

Our Gardening Explorers curriculum is designed to combine the joy of hands-on discovery with the proven 5E instructional model Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate.

Each phase encourages students to connect with nature while developing curiosity, responsibility, and environmental awareness.

We begin with the Engage Phase, sparking wonder through visuals of gardens, seeds, and ecosystems that inspire questions and excitement.

In the Explore Phase, students dive into soil, seeds, and compost with interactive experiments, embracing curiosity and learning through trial and error.

The Explain Phase introduces key science concepts such as growth cycles, sustainability, and the connection between gardens and healthy living.

The Elaborate Phase brings these ideas to life through planting, building compost jars, designing dream gardens, and tasting harvest-ready crops.

The experience concludes in the Evaluate Phase, where students reflect on their projects, track plant growth, and share how gardening connects to their community and the environment.

This structured yet flexible approach ensures every student not only gains practical gardening skills but also develops a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.
