Join Our Team as a Director of Finance & Reporting (Remote, U.S.)

This role is essential to strengthening BAM!'s financial foundation as we continue to scale nationally. The Director of Finance & Reporting partners directly with the CFO to oversee financial reporting, revenue reconciliation, outsourced accounting performance, and compliance activities that support accurate decision-making and sustainable growth.

Who We’re Looking For:

The Director of Finance & Reporting partners directly with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and usability of BAM!'s financial reporting while strengthening the financial infrastructure needed to support the company's continued national growth.

This role is essential to providing leadership with accurate, timely, and actionable financial information while identifying and resolving issues related to revenue recognition, invoicing, compliance, and financial operations. The Director of Finance & Reporting serves as the primary reviewer of financial reporting produced by BAM!'s outsourced accounting partner and acts as a key bridge between Finance, Revenue Operations, Business Systems, and Compliance teams.

This role requires someone who thrives in a dynamic, growth-stage environment and enjoys solving complex financial and operational challenges. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with imperfect data, and motivated by building scalable processes that improve reporting accuracy and business performance.

Location: Remote (U.S.)
Final employment classification, compensation structure, and payroll practices will comply with the laws of the state in which the employee primarily performs work.

Schedule: Full-time, flexible hours aligned to business needs and reporting deadlines

Travel: Occasional travel for planning meetings, audits, lender discussions, or leadership sessions (estimated 5–10%)


In This Role, You Will:

Financial Reporting & Consero Oversight

Lead the review and validation of all monthly financial reporting deliverables prepared by Consero, BAM!'s outsourced accounting partner.

Review financial statements, supporting schedules, and reporting packages for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission to the CFO.

Identify variances, classification errors, reporting gaps, and unusual trends while ensuring timely resolution.

Serve as the primary day-to-day partner to Consero's VP of Finance and hold the team accountable for reporting quality, responsiveness, and execution.

Own the executive-level monthly reporting package, including variance analysis, financial trends, and management commentary.

Partner with Consero throughout the month-end close process to ensure final outputs accurately reflect business performance.


Revenue Recognition & Invoicing Investigation

Build and maintain reconciliations across Salesforce contracts, program delivery schedules, Sage Intacct invoicing, and general ledger revenue recognition.

Investigate revenue discrepancies resulting from program changes, cancellations, reschedules, or operational adjustments.

Identify root causes of invoicing delays, missing purchase orders, aged accounts receivable, and reporting inconsistencies.

Collaborate with Revenue Operations and Finance teams to drive issue resolution and improve revenue accuracy.

Partner with the VP of Finance Business Processes and Systems to implement long-term process improvements and internal controls that prevent recurring issues.


Multi-State Compliance & Financial Support

Support state registration, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements across all operating markets.

Provide financial documentation and supporting information required for compliance filings, registrations, and regulatory reviews.

Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance-related financial records remain accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

Help establish scalable processes that support BAM!'s continued expansion into new markets.


Strategic Financial Analysis & CFO Support

Partner directly with the CFO on strategic initiatives, financial planning, lender requests, financing activities, and business analysis.

Support banking relationships, financing diligence efforts, and compliance requirements associated with debt facilities and financial partnerships.

Perform ad hoc financial analysis on profitability, program performance, fill rates, revenue trends, and operational efficiency.

Provide actionable recommendations that support executive decision-making and organizational growth.


Audit Support & Financial Controls

Support internal and external audit activities, including information gathering, issue resolution, and follow-up actions.

Monitor audit findings and partner with stakeholders to prevent recurring issues.

Help strengthen financial controls, reporting procedures, and documentation standards across the organization.


Systems, Documentation & Process Improvement

Develop and maintain financial reporting processes, documentation, and reconciliation procedures.

Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data integrity, and operational visibility.

Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Operations, Business Systems, and Compliance teams to implement scalable process improvements.

Support the development of financial reporting standards that create consistency across departments and operating regions.


Who We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • 7–12 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing financial close processes and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Experience working within multi-unit service organizations such as education, staffing, hospitality, professional services, or franchise operations.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience supporting audits, financing activities, lender relationships, or regulatory reporting.
  • Experience overseeing or partnering with outsourced accounting providers.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to translate financial information into executive-ready reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-state operations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct, Salesforce, Paycom, or similar enterprise systems.
  • Experience in high-growth, venture-backed, or scaling organizations.
  • Experience designing financial controls and process improvement initiatives.
  • Education, childcare, after-school, camp, or service-industry experience.

  • Established a strong operating rhythm with Finance, Compliance, Revenue Operations, and Business Systems teams.


Within 6 Months

  • Reduced reporting errors reaching executive leadership by at least 75%.
  • Resolved outstanding state registration and compliance-related financial support needs.
  • Partnered on multiple process improvement initiatives that strengthened reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Improved visibility into revenue, invoicing, and financial reporting issues through scalable controls and reporting processes.

Compensation & Details

$130,000–$160,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits, commensurate with experience.

Exempt or non-exempt status will be determined based on the employee’s primary work location and applicable state and federal wage-and-hour laws.
