Brains & Motion Education and Twin Rivers Unified School District are turning everyday play into big-league growth for students, expanding their partnership to deliver after-school sports and enrichment to more campuses than ever before.
When BAM! launched structured recess and sports at three Twin Rivers sites in 2022–23, the results were immediate: safer play, stronger teamwork, and more healthy movement throughout the day. Riding that success, the program now spans 11 school sites, offering tennis, cross country, cheerleading, soccer, basketball, and flag football.
This momentum is translating into real wins. At this year’s Twin Rivers Soccer Tournament, Smythe Academy of Arts and Sciences—a BAM! partner school—earned first place, demonstrating the confidence, teamwork, and school spirit fostered through BAM! programs.
This school year, each Twin Rivers site is supported by three BAM! coaches and a lead coach who bring after-school athletics to life through engaging, well-organized programming. BAM! fully runs and coordinates the program, recruiting students, training coaches, organizing practices, and blending athletic skill-building with homework support and lessons in teamwork, character, and nutrition. Across each sport, BAM! delivers safe, structured leagues, games, and tournaments while maintaining ongoing family communication. The BAM! team also manages day-to-day and weekend operations, working closely with school leaders and Expanded Learning staff to ensure every season runs smoothly, from the first parent orientation to the excitement of Saturday championships.
This comprehensive approach lays the foundation for students to:
